What To Expect From 2023 Wedding?

There's no denying that 2022 was a defining moment in wedding history. The anticipated wedding boom occurred, and millions of celebrations were held around the world. After two years of downsized or postponed nuptials, weddings returned in full force and felt more intentional than ever. Personalisation and breaking the mould will continue to drive wedding trends in 2023.

Brides [and grooms] are rearranging wedding molecules. They are thinking outside the box to personalise their wedding day.

This appears differently to each couple. One couple's intention may be sustainability, which could be as simple as not using single-use items at their wedding reception. If a couple works in the food industry, their wedding plans may include hiring a restaurant chef and hosting a five-course meal with an open kitchen.

What to consider further?

The list goes on and on. Our commitment is to seek out these meaningful aspects of each wedding, for each couple, and bring them to the foreground so that they feel personalised and intentional.

Couples will continue to personalise their weddings in 2023, resulting in a noticeable shift away from the "typical" wedding look and feel.

Clients want to break away from the 'norm' when it comes to wedding traditions now more than ever. We are predicting more of the anti-bride trend—a less-is-more approach to the day that allows the couple to shine through.

Some industry insiders believe that trends in general will have less of an impact on the industry. Those who say "I do" are also considering the experience they will provide their invited guests. On their special day, our couples are focused on ensuring that their guests have a fantastic time. Whether they are hosting 50 or 500 guests, we are seeing couples prioritise the guest experience in such warm and welcoming ways.

Most wedding industry experts agree that multi-day destination events will dominate in 2023. With people feeling so constrained in recent years, we are now seeing a significant increase in inquiries for destination weddings. Couples are eager to see the world and bring their guests with them after having limited access to travel in recent years!

The couples enjoy having full buyouts of venues and hotels so that their guests can stay together throughout the wedding celebration and multiple days of events. Planners are seeing smaller guest counts for these destination events, as well as a greater emphasis on activities other than the ceremony and reception.

Many of our couples want to go beyond the Friday through Sunday wedding events and give their guests a week-long community experience.

As the year 2023 progresses, we can expect to witness weddings unlike any other. Couples will forge their own paths, aided by incredible vendors, to create celebrations that reflect their personalities, style, and love.
